On September 16, a high-level delegation from Uruguay including Centro Ceibal, the Ministry of Education and Culture(MEC), and the National Administration of Public Education(ANEP) visited the Korea Education and Research Information Service(KERIS) to share experiences on AI-driven education policies and digital-based education innovation between the two countries.
KERIS shared its strategies for AI-based teaching and teacher training, while Ceibal presented outcomes from its AI Education Research Center(EduIA).
KERIS also highlighted its project with the Inter-American Development Bank(IDB), which developed an AI competency framework and diagnostic tools for Uruguayan teachers.
Both institutions agreed to expand cooperation through an MoU, including joint research, pilot projects, and teacher training programs.
The delegation also visited Sookcheon Elementary School and Daegu National University of Education to observe Korea’s digital education practices, noting valuable lessons for Uruguay’s teacher training and policy development.
