On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, the awards ceremony for the 8th Education Public Data and AI Utilization Competition was held at the Sejong Convention Center.

The competition was co-hosted by the Ministry of Education and metropolitan and provincial offices of education and organized by the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS). 

Of the 1,886 entries submitted nationwide, 153 teams—137 in the student category and 16 in the general category—were selected as award winners.

This year, the competition was revamped to encourage participants to directly integrate public education data with artificial intelligence (AI) to address challenges in education. 

The three Grand Prize-winning teams across the general and student categories received high marks for both their ability to utilize AI and the educational value of their projects.

KERIS will continue to expand opportunities for everyone to participate in education innovation using data and AI, while strengthening efforts to connect these initiatives with data-driven education policy.
