KERIS Launches Volunteer Campaign with Education Community on its 25th Anniversary

-Traffic Safety Campaign for Elementary Students and Donation Campaign

The Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS, Acting President Myung-ho Shin), a leading digital education platform institution, celebrated its 25th anniversary.

On this occasion, KERIS carried out various volunteer activities such as a traffic safety campaign for elementary school students, a blood donation, a plogging (picking up litter while jogging) challenge, and a step donation project. Since its establishment on April 22, 1999, KERIS has provided various digital education services for education consumers, such as EDUNET T-CLEAR, Cyber Home Learning, 4th Generation NEIS, K-EduFine, and RISS. In particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic, KERIS successfully implemented remote classes using the e-Learning platform, demonstrating the resilience of education in South Korea.

Since the launch of the current government, KERIS has been working hard as the dedicated institution for AI digital textbooks to introduce AI-based classes in schools for the first time in the world.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary, which is also the history of national digital education, KERIS carried out various volunteer activities.

On April 22, the anniversary date, KERIS visited Saeron Elementary School in Daegu Innovation City and delivered 'Yellow Cards,' children's traffic safety products, to students. The Yellow Card is a card-type traffic safety product that increases visibility by more than nine times when attached to a backpack, preventing child traffic accidents. KERIS also plans to deliver Yellow Cards to Sukcheon Elementary School on April 25.

The '10 Million Step Donation Project,' where employees donated their step counts, was also successfully carried out. KERIS plans to donate 2.5 million won raised by employees to local volunteer organizations.

Additionally, various volunteer activities were conducted, such as the 'Plogging Challenge' of picking up litter around Daegu Innovation City and a 'Blood Donation' event.

Myung-ho Shin, Acting President of the Korea Education and Research Information Service, said, "The Korea Education and Research Information Service will continue to do its best for educational innovation using digital technology as an educational institution working together with the people."
